About Team Meghan
A 2017 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School in Hummelstown, PA, Meghan Marie Johnson loved to sing, write music, and share her passion for the stage. Meghan was very active in her high school drama club and theater program, as well as several community theaters. She also excelled academically, maintaining membership in the National Honor Society, English Honor Society, and the Science Honor Society.
Meghan enjoyed shopping, buying shoes, listening to Taylor Swift, eating Peeps, the color pink, Arnold Palmer Iced Tea, watching The Golden Girls, and spending time with her family and many friends. Sadly, Meghan passed away at the age of 18 on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 after a two year courageous battle with Stage 4 Glioblastoma Brain Cancer.
The Meghan M. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that was created in the Spring of 2018. It’s mission is to provide scholarships in Meghan’s name to high school seniors pursuing a higher education in the arts. Currently we offer scholarships at three high schools in Central Pennsylvania. We are registered as a nonprofit organization in the state of Pennsylvania and operate with a five member board of directors.
imdoinit.org was launched in the Fall of 2018, and through a fundraising partnership with UPMC Hillman Cancer Center in Pittsburgh, raises money for Glioblastoma Brain Cancer research and awareness. All donations received by imdoinit.org go directly to the University Of Pittsburgh. We presented our first $1,000 check in Pittsburgh on March 19th, 2019.
Team Meghan is the fundraising and community outreach division of the Meghan M. Johnson Memorial Scholarship Fund, imdoinit.org, and Camp Meghan. The Team Meghan 3K Walk/Run in Hershey, PA, our Community Yard Sale, and the Cancer Warriors Photo Shoot are just a few of the events we hold in support of our initiatives. Team Meghan has a large social media presence and we are active in community events and causes that Meghan would be involved with if she were still alive.
